CLACTON ON SEA LIFEBOAT FUNDRAISING DIARY FOR 2015

OPEN GARDENS at THE HALL TENDRING

SUNDAY 24TH MAY and MONDAY 25TH MAY

The spectacular Gardens at The Hall Tendring (postcode CO160BPD) will be open to the public over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend from 2.00pm to 5.00pm.

Proceeds for the two days will be divided between Tendring Church and Clacton on Sea Lifeboat.

The Gardens comprise of formal lawns with herbaceous borders with colour throughout the year. Large banks of Rhododendrons/Azaleas line the woodland walks and around the large lake. There is a formal Rose garden with many varieties. A Pond with a waterfall and water lilies, great area for Dragonflies and aquatic life. A new addition to the gardens is the Sensory garden with beds of plants dedicated to taste, touch, smell, sound and vision.                                                             

Winter garden (though not at its best) is still worth a look!                                                               

Walled kitchen Garden containing many types of Vegetables, Top fruit and Soft fruit.                   

There also is a Bee hive which will be cordoned off for safety. However for those interested in Bees there will be items of Beekeeping equipment on display.                                                                      

Please note that the Greenhouses are not open to the Public but viewing can be made through the Doors. There will be a small plant sale with all proceeds going to charity.                                        

There are many mature and interesting trees throughout the gardens and our Grand Cedar (one of the oldest in the area) waits to greet you on the main lawn.

In addition to the Open Gardens there will be a number of attractions, involving local music and dance groups.                                                                                                                                                       

There will be a number of local Craft Stalls in the Gardens and a display of Classic cars.                  

There is free parking available and wheelchair access.

Entrance is �4 per person, Children Free

Teas, coffees and homemade food and cakes will be available at the adjacent Village Hall.

Also nearby Tendring Church will be open for Art and Craft displays and a painting demonstration
